Students received their information packages with information and forms to be filled out. Please have materials at school by Monday September 11. I apologize that blog has been late for me this year, my computer stopped working and I am in the process of getting a new one. I will retype my notes that disappeared from the first three days over the weekend. I appreciate your patience! Today was a fun day in grade 3 :) We started our day reading a story from Ms. Temple who is filling in for Ms. Dennill and she asked us to create a new book cover, with a partner, that we thought the illustrator would love. Afterwards, we had a GIANT gym class with all of the grade 3s! We played a game called "Everyone Is It" dodgeball- ask me all about it. When we came back into the classroom, we had a snack and then started working on a reflective piece in our visual journals. We talked about presentation in our journals (having a title, numbering our pages, taking our time, putting in our best effort) and how to care for our journal as it will be our main platform to share our learning this year. We traced our handprints and will be sharing 10 things our teacher should know about us. Five of those things will be about who I am outside of school (which we worked on today) and five of them will be related to who I am as a learner. We had a sharing circle before going outside to work on a building project using things from nature. We had a partner and were challenged to build a structure using materials that we could find- ask me what I chose to build! Quotes from sharing circle: "My favorite part of the week was meeting everyone" "My favorite part of the week was when we drew Joy" "My favorite part of the week was everything" "My favorite part of the week was Mission Impossible" "My favorite part of the week was Hot and Ready" "My favorite part of the week was the math problems" |
