FYI:
You can now book your student led conferences that will take place on April 17th! We will be visiting Fish Creek on Wednesday from 9am-1pm We have Scientists in the Classroom on Friday! Today, we had a settling activity to start the day with some mindfulness coloring with an autism awareness sheet. Afterwards, we had gym where we started a new unit in volleyball! We practiced serving the ball and returning it against the wall. Did you know our school is a polling site? We could only use 1/2 of the gym. Afterwards, we took turns sharing with the class some of the things we did on our spring break. After recess, we had computers! We warmed up with typing games and spend 15 minutes on Duolingo. Afterwards, we got to log into 10monkeys for math. There is a HUGE competition going on with this math website and we are one class in our school that is participating. After lunch, we went over the power hour options for the next session coming up. Some students continued while they listened. Most of us filled out our power hour forms but some of us took them home to fill out. They are due on Friday. In music, we watched a video and then we started practicing with our recorders while some kids did testing for their belts. Next, we had literacy. We choose new roles for the week and then read our books. We finished the day with the end of our Bill Nye video on light and color. We hope everyone had a great spring break! - Rhiannon (and Ms. Parent)
