FYI:
Field trip forms should be in by Monday! Bike to School Day is on June 6th (see notice that went home) Book order forms due Friday, June 9th. Alien Inline Starts next week: HELMETS & HYGIENE Alien In-Line provides certified helmets, but for best hygiene and comfort we suggest that each participant bring in his or her own certified helmet. Don’t forget to label your helmet. Please remember to bring socks! Today, we started the day warming up with our typing skills and then moved into a short time on Duolingo before going into our Minecraft projects. Students reviewed their research and searched images of various components of the land and people of the global communities and the regions of Alberta. Students will be recreating their own version of these lands using Minecraft as their platform. In addition, they will create rules and decide how their land will be governed (to name a couple of their responsibilities in this project!). Afterwards, we read a chapter in Auggie and Me which was followed by a discussion around perspective and understanding. The students worked in their visual journals for a few minutes before we went out for our Phys. Ed block. Our students of the week was Callahan! He has been a superstar in the classroom!! He has really been engaged in his own learning and has taken pride in being responsible for his growth in the classroom. Way to go kiddo!
