FYI:
Volunteer Tea: May 26th Sorry our blog didn't post on Thursday! We spent the entire day completing various learning missions outside! We started with our phys. ed lesson and it went from there! From landscaping modeled after our province, to making our faces look weird and following an insect, we had an amazing day using the outdoors as a space for learning. Our student of the week was named and it was *insert drum roll here* Zayne!! Way to go!! Today, we started the morning reflecting on what we now know about multiplication before going outside for our phys. ed block. We practiced chest, bounce and overhead passes before trying out a three man weave! Afterwards, we scrimmaged with the grade 3s vs. the grade 4s which allowed us to practice student-to-student defense. Next we stayed outside for snack and then for a literacy activity. Students were asked to pick a scene from their current novel study and write a short script; using the outdoors as their setting. After recess, we spent some time reading the Hobbit and had a sharing circle to share some highlights from the long weekend! Afterwards, students had another 15 minutes to work on their scripts before the lunch bell rang. After lunch, we had some silent reading time before going outside to collect some materials for an art project we are working on. We finished the day with power hour! Have a great night everyone!!
