Students with last names beginning with M to Z will perform on Thursday morning and Thursday night. We ask that the students wear blue or green shirts without any letters, images, or logos and dark pants. If your child is not able to attend the evening performance, please contact your child's teacher and let them know. Highlights from our day: We started our day reading a newsletter from City Hall School that asked us to think about whether we think Calgary should make a bid for the 2026 Olympics, whether we would want to compete in a future olympics or if we would want to volunteer/work at a venue if the Olympics were to come to Calgary in 2016. Ask me something I learned from the article. Thank you to Ms. Shelia for keeping us engaged as we await our time at City Hall School :) After responding to our journal prompt from the newsletter, we were given some time to improve and finish up our Harry Potter writing prompt. We reviewed the importance and intention behind feedback and then had another author's chair. Thank you to Rachel, Gavin and Tristan for sharing their writing with us today. It was too cold to go out at recess so our grade 6 buddies played a new story game with us. After recess, we had a snack before listening to Ms. Very read from our novel study. Afterwards, we had a group conversation about some of the things we know about Ron Weasley, before working in our visual journals. Some of us had about 15 minutes to go through our checklist of things needing to be finished. After lunch, we had a short DEAR time before having circle. We reviewed triple digit addition and subtraction with Ms. Very. Some of us also continued/started some work designing a dream bedroom on a $1000 budget to apply what we know about addition and subtraction. In PE, we worked on our racket skills in Tennis! Afterwards, we continued working in our math tasks.
