Thank you so much in advance. I will be sending home a letter to individual parents as well. Grade 3's need Pringles containers for the spring concert! Have a fun treat with your families if you can and bring in the container for us :) Speaking of the concert: We are excited to present our Spring Performance of Water Dance on March 21st and 22nd. The staff and students have been working hard on songs, dances, and artwork. Students with last names beginning with A to L will perform on Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night. Students with last names beginning with M to Z will perform on Thursday morning and Thursday night. We ask that the students wear blue or green shirts without any letters, images, or logos and dark pants. If your child is not able to attend the evening performance, please contact your child's teacher and let them know. Highlights from our day: We had a class discussion about flags after our newsletter from City Hall. We wanted to think about what makes a good flag, why Canada's flag looks the way it does, what a flag represents etc. Afterwards, we sketched symbols that represent who we are and started created a personal flag. We had music! We finished our science builds and did our final testing! Our shapes with triangles held the most weight! We read from Harry Potter and started drawing Hermione :) Afterwards, we tested any structures that were altered due to mixed shapes. We had DEAR time and then talked about what it means to have someone observing you while you perform a skill. Students were able to relate to Ms. Very as many of them have evaluations for sports such as dance or hockey. Ms. Barb came in to watch Ms. Very teach both math and PE this afternoon. We talked about regrouping when there are zeros for placeholders and we have all started a budgeting project to design a bedroom with a $1000 limit. This will allow us to practice addition and subtraction in a real-life situation :) In PE, we had some different level racket challenges! Afterwards, we continued working on our math projects. Have a great night everyone!
