Dead Battery Drop Off The Prince of Wales We Club is asking for dead battery donations. Did you know that zinc deficiency in our diet can have a huge impact on brain and body growth? One battery has enough zinc to be processed into vitamin pills for 6 children! Send any non-leaking batteries down. They are collecting them until end of May. IMPORTANT DATES May 17: Spring Picture Order Forms Due May 18: PD Day (no school for students) May 21: Victoria Day (school closed) May 23: Last day of City Hall School May 25: Volunteer Tea Highlights from our day: We started our day in music and then we did some read aloud time with a quick snack (have we mentioned how much we are LOVING the end of The Philosopher's Stone?). Next, we shared some things we heard on our outdoor mission yesterday and wondered how we heard different things even when we were sitting back to back! Afterwards, we watched two short videos on rock stacking as an art form which led us into our mission for the day- build a mini cairn at the playground! Ask me what my record was :) Once we were done, we read the LAST few pages of our novel while we were outside!! We worked on our adventure maps, some of our character descriptions and in our problem/solution spaces- which we will add to tomorrow. We had a mini lesson on division and applied that during our time on 10monkeys.com We worked on typing our 6 room poetry- tomorrow we will talk about centering texts, adjusting color and size and then look at margins (if needed). We had DEAR time today. In PE we played "Not in my Backyard" and "Ship to Shore" During our math lesson, we reviewed area and perimeter and then started to solve some problems using squares and rectangles.
