Smart teacher move- I copied the blog to a word document and thankfully so as the blog disappeared again!
Congratulations to Alexis who is our student of the week! Alexis demonstrated an ability to always choose kindness, to follow instructions quickly and to make smart choices, in addition to really helping out in our classroom this week. Enjoy your teacher chair next week :) FYI: * The post from yesterday disappeared :-/ * From the office: If you wish your child to have retakes, please send in the original proof order form. If you have misplaced the form, you can write a note to your child’s teacher so we know you have given permission to have retakes done. * Upcoming: Remembrance Day Assembly is next Thursday (please wear a white shirt- no logo- and black pants * Telus Spark: November 17th (all day) Homework: Please write down what you know about the poppy (think about the stories we have read, videos watched etc.). Consider: What does the poppy represent? Why do we wear poppies? When did we start wearing poppies? Do you think it is important to wear a poppy every year? Why? We started our day with a Friday dance party and then moved into computers. We discussed what celebrations we celebrate in our homes and shared some of traditions that go along with those celebrations. The grade 3 students started to look into some different celebrations that take place in the 4 global communities while the grade 4 students are looking into some celebrations that take place here in Alberta. After computers, we read a book called The Peace Book and started our own pages on what peace means to us in our visual journals. Ask me what peace means to me! Finally, we a short video on the poppy and over the weekend we need to look into what the poppy represents and why it is an important symbol for our Canadian history. Have a great weekend! Welcome back Devon!!
