The first group of people that we have chosen to help live right in our city. We will be collecting winter coats, boots, hats, scarves, mitts, and snow pants that are gently used. These items will be for Syrian Refugees from Keeler school in Calgary, where Ms. Georg is now teaching. The refugees have left their homes with nothing but themselves. (Think about it if you did not have a warm winter coat walking out into the snow). Please bring in sizes for age 4 and up. Please help out! Donations can be brought to Mrs. McKay’s classroom, Please have all donations here by November 4 2016 -The members of the Give power hour Today was a very busy day and many students indicated that they felt tired today! One quick solution is for your son/daughter to ensure they are drinking enough water which is more accessible when they have a water bottle on their desk. We started the with European Handball in Phys. Ed and then had a circle to share a goal each student could work on today. Afterwards we watched a short section of Trashopolis and had a discussion before completing a sketch from an art piece done by Chris Jordan. Ask me what I think the dinosaur could be made of! After recess, we had a quick snack before going to our math groups for our second day! Ask me how I am enjoying my group :) Once math groups were done we read a couple of chapters of Wonder before heading out to lunch. Ask me about what happened in the book today! After DEAR, we explored our protagonist a bit more with some embodying questions before enjoying a celebration for Ahmad's birthday! Thank you for the cookies Siama :)
